The Healthcare Benefits of Shower Chairs
A well-specified shower chair is far more than a safety aid. It can meaningfully restore independence for the user, reduce the physical and emotional demands of bathing support for family carers, and achieve important clinical outcomes for the Occupational Therapists managing the individual’s care. Here is what our range delivers.

Safe Showering Independence
For users, a shower chair restores confidence and independence in one of the most personal daily activities. For family carers, it reduces the physical and emotional burden of bathing support. For OTs, it directly addresses a key Activities of Daily Living (ADL) goal - maintaining or restoring bathing independence.

Tailored Comfort and Support
From multiple arm styles and seat configurations to Tilt-in-Space functionality for pressure management, our shower chairs are adjustable to the individual, not the other way around. OTs can specify the exact configuration required; users and families benefit from a chair that genuinely fits.

Carer Safety and Ergonomics
Flip-up armrests, forward tilting positions and wide access designs reduce the physical demands on carers during transfers and assisted bathing. For families providing hands-on support and care professionals managing bathing routines, this matters enormously.

Waterproof Durability
Stainless steel frames and water-resistant materials ensure our shower chairs are built to perform reliably in wet environments over the long term. The Osprey carries a 15-year frame warranty - reassurance for users, families and OTs specifying a durable long-term solution.

Pressure Management
Tilt-in-Space functionality on the Raz Attendant Tilt redistributes pressure during bathing - a clinically important feature for OTs managing users with existing pressure injuries or fragile skin and a key safeguard for families concerned about skin integrity.

Versatile Positioning
Adjustable seat height, depth and backrest tension, combined with lockable castors for safe positioning in the wet room, give users, carers and OTs the control and flexibility needed to make every bathing session safe, comfortable and dignified.
Finding a Shower Chair That Suits Your Needs
Our shower chair range currently comprises two specialist models - the highly customisable Osprey and the clinically advanced Raz Attendant Tilt. OTs can contact us directly to discuss a client’s bathing assessment requirements, families are welcome to call with questions and users can arrange a free home visit to see the options in their own bathroom environment.

A shower chair is a waterproof seating solution designed to make showering safer, more comfortable and more independent for people who find it difficult to stand throughout a shower or who need support during bathing. For users, it can restore a meaningful degree of independence. For family carers, it makes assisted bathing safer and less physically demanding. For Occupational Therapists, it is a common prescription following a bathing assessment, addressing a core activity of daily living.
The Osprey is a highly customisable assisted bathing chair with a wide range of arm, seat and footrest configurations, ideal for users who need a bespoke, well-fitted solution for regular assisted bathing. The Raz Attendant Tilt is a more clinically advanced option with Tilt-in-Space functionality to 40°, making it better suited to users with complex postural or pressure care needs during bathing, including those with neurological or progressive conditions
Tilt-in-Space on the Raz Attendant Tilt allows the entire seat and backrest to tilt up to 40° as one unit, redistributing pressure across the body without changing the hip-to-back angle. This is clinically important for users at risk of pressure injuries during bathing, those who cannot tolerate an upright seated position for extended periods, and those with complex postural needs, making it a key OT specification feature.

Some shower chairs may qualify for funding through a local authority occupational therapy assessment, NHS continuing healthcare or other provision, depending on the individual’s assessed needs. Our team can provide guidance on funding pathways, and we work alongside OTs who may be coordinating this process. Families can also ask their GP or community OT for a referral.
