Finding the right fit

Seating specialist helping client choose a chair

A Clinically Informed Approach

Establishing the best seating solution for your needs starts with understanding your lived experience: how long you sit, how you shift, how you use the chair.

Listen and Assess

It’s not just asking “what do you need?”, it’s about understanding the user’s day-to-day: how long they sit, what positions they favour, what causes discomfort, what health issues matter.

Pressure Mapping & Posture

Using specialist tools, we can see where pressure builds up and which seating adjustments will relieve it.

Tailored Recommendations

Based on that assessment, we can then suggest the  seating solutions that would be the best fit. That could be riser recliners, tilt-in-space or bespoke chairs - always with an eye to both comfort and clinical benefit.

Fine Tuning

Once your chair is delivered, the team will re-check your posture, make small adjustments, and help you to understand how to use its features best (tilt, recline, pressure cushions) to stay well supported.

Product FAQ's

Does the Lilley riser recliner come with a guarantee

You’re investing in your comfort, so we don’t just deliver products. Every one of our riser recliners, including the Lilley, comes with our 5 year accidental damage cover including giving you peace of mind. If you’re not happy with your chair, our team are on hand to make sure you get the support you deserve.

Do you offer nationwide delivery?

Yes. Every Lilley is delivered as part of our white-glove service — meaning our team will bring the chair into the room of your choice, position it, run through all the controls with you and make sure you’re comfortable using it before they leave. We cover the whole of the UK.

Once I've ordered, how long will it take to receive my Lilley?

Standard Lilley models can be delivered to your home within 7 days of ordering. If you opt for a Made-to-Measure build or a less common fabric or configuration, lead times are typically around 6 weeks. We’ll confirm the exact timeframe at the point of order and keep you updated throughout.

How do I know which size Lilley is right for me?

The most reliable way to find the right size is through a home visit from one of our seating consultants. They’ll take your measurements, consider your posture and mobility, and recommend the most suitable configuration. Our Chair Selector Tool online is also a useful starting point if you’d prefer to explore options in your own time before getting in touch. Alternatively, call the team and they can talk you through the sizing guide over the phone.

How do I keep my Lilley clean and hygienic?

The Lilley’s scroll arms and headrest are areas that see the most contact during daily use. Optional arm and headrest covers are available to protect these surfaces and can simply be removed and machine washed when needed. If hygiene is a particular priority, for instance in a care setting or for a user with a health condition, the Lilley can also be specified in waterproof or easy-clean fabrics from our standard range.

Is the Lilley suitable for users with specific health conditions?

The Lilley has been designed with postural support and ease of movement in mind, and is used by people living with a range of conditions including Arthritis, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Kyphosis, Lordosis, Heart Disease and those recovering from Stroke. The two-tier back cushion system is particularly effective at managing postural discomfort, while the Tilt-in-Space function reduces the effort required to stand. If you’re unsure whether the Lilley is the right fit for a specific condition or mobility need, our Chair Selector Tool can help narrow down the options, or you can speak directly with our seating specialists.

What is the difference between the dual motor and triple motor options?

The dual motor option on the Lilley controls the Tilt-in-Space function, moving the seat, backrest and footrest together to assist sitting and standing. The triple motor option adds a further level of control, allowing the backrest and footrest to be adjusted independently of the rise mechanism. This means you can recline to watch television, raise just your feet to reduce swelling, or find a precise position that works for your posture, all without affecting the other settings. The triple motor is a good choice for users who want maximum flexibility in how they use their chair throughout the day.

What is Tilt-in-Space functionality and what does it do?

Tilt-in-Space is a feature of the Lilley’s dual motor system. Rather than simply reclining the backrest, it tilts the whole seating position including the seat, back and footrest as a single unit. This is particularly helpful for users who find it difficult to push up to standing from a standard seated position, as the chair gently angles them forward and upward to assist the movement. It also helps with pressure relief and maintaining a supported posture throughout the day. The Tilt-in-Space function is operated via the handset, so the user stays in control at all times.

What is the maximum weight capacity of the Lilley?

The Lilley’s standard frame supports users weighing up to 25 stone. If you have specific requirements beyond this, please speak to our team. The Lilley can be Made-to-Measure to accommodate users weighing up to 70 stone and we can discuss whether a bespoke build may be appropriate for your needs.

What sizes is the Lilley available in?

The Lilley comes in four standard sizes -Super Petit, Compact, Medium and Large - as well as a Made-to-Measure option for those who need a chair built to their exact dimensions. Super Petit suits shorter users, with a lower seat height that allows feet to rest flat on the floor without the footrest extended. Compact has a narrower overall footprint, making it a practical choice for smaller rooms. Medium offers a wider seat and greater depth, suited to average-height users who need good hip-to-knee support. Large provides additional width and depth for taller or broader users. If none of the standard sizes are quite right, our Made-to-Measure service ensures the Lilley is built precisely around you.
