Platinum Bespoke

Not adjusted to fit. Built for you from the ground up.

Every person’s body, health condition and home is different and no off-the-shelf chair can account for all of that. The Platinum Bespoke range starts where standard sizing ends. We take your exact measurements, understand your clinical and comfort requirements, and build a chair around you: the height, width and load-bearing capacity, the back style, the arm design, the motor configuration, the fabric and every upgrade in between. The result is a riser recliner that fits you precisely, supports you exactly where you need it, and looks at home in your space, with access to a range of Platinum-exclusive upgrades not available on any other chair in our range.

  • Built to your exact measurements - height, seat depth, seat width and load-bearing capacity
  • Choose your back style: waterfall, two-tier, button back, T-back or lateral cushions
  • Scroll arm or wooden knuckle arm options in a choice of 3 wood colour finishes
  • Single, dual or triple motor options for your preferred level of positional control
  • Weight capacity up to 70 stone as standard across the Platinum Bespoke range
  • Exclusive Platinum upgrades — from 10-point massage to memory foam and gel support options

No two Platinum Bespoke chairs are the same. Every detail - from the cushion system to the motor configuration to the fabric - is chosen specifically for the person who will be sitting in it.

Finding the right fit

Seating specialist helping client choose a chair

A Clinically Informed Approach

Establishing the best seating solution for your needs starts with understanding your lived experience: how long you sit, how you shift, how you use the chair.

Listen and Assess

It’s not just asking “what do you need?”, it’s about understanding the user’s day-to-day: how long they sit, what positions they favour, what causes discomfort, what health issues matter.

Pressure Mapping & Posture

Using specialist tools, we can see where pressure builds up and which seating adjustments will relieve it.

Tailored Recommendations

Based on that assessment, we can then suggest the  seating solutions that would be the best fit. That could be riser recliners, tilt-in-space or bespoke chairs - always with an eye to both comfort and clinical benefit.

Fine Tuning

Once your chair is delivered, the team will re-check your posture, make small adjustments, and help you to understand how to use its features best (tilt, recline, pressure cushions) to stay well supported.

Product FAQ's

Does the Platinum Bespoke come with a guarantee?

Yes - every Platinum Bespoke chair includes 5-year accidental damage cover as standard, giving you long-term confidence in your investment. If anything isn’t right after delivery, our aftercare team will work with you to resolve it. Given the bespoke nature of each chair, our aftercare team is also available to discuss adjustments if your needs change over time.

How long will it take to receive my Platinum Bespoke chair?

Because every Platinum Bespoke chair is built from scratch to your individual specification, lead times are longer than for standard chairs. Build time is typically [MF to confirm lead time] from the point of confirmed order. Your consultant will give you a specific timeframe at the point of order, and we’ll keep you informed throughout the build and delivery process.

Do I need a home visit to order a Platinum Bespoke?

Yes - a home visit is a required part of the Platinum Bespoke process, not just an option. Because the chair is built to your exact measurements and specification, we need to take those measurements in person and have a proper conversation about your needs before anything can be confirmed. The visit is free of charge and carries no obligation. Your consultant will take your measurements, go through every configuration and upgrade option with you, and provide a detailed, personalised quote. You’re free to take as much time as you need before deciding.

Is the Platinum Bespoke suitable for users with specific health conditions?

The Platinum Bespoke is designed precisely for users whose health conditions or physical requirements mean a standard chair isn’t sufficient. It is used by people managing a wide range of conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Cerebral Palsy, spinal injury, severe Kyphosis or Lordosis, Arthritis, Heart Disease, stroke and complex postural dysfunction. The ability to specify the back style, arm configuration, motor system and pressure-relief upgrades individually means the chair can be configured to meet clinical-level requirements that no off-the-shelf product can address. Our seating consultants work closely with occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals on Platinum Bespoke specifications for complex cases.

What are the Platinum upgrades and how do they differ from standard accessories?

The Platinum upgrades are a set of premium additions exclusive to the Platinum Bespoke collection - they are not available on any other Channel Healthcare chair. They include a 10-point massage system (significantly more comprehensive than the standard massage option), heated seating, gel seat cushions, memory foam seat cushions, memory foam or gel foot support, bespoke arm support modifications and custom head and neck support. Each is designed to address a specific clinical, comfort or lifestyle need, and all are discussed and specified as part of the home visit process. Standard accessories - such as reading lights, USB ports, the Accupak power pack and arm and headrest covers - are also available on the Platinum Bespoke alongside these exclusive upgrades.

What is the weight capacity of the Platinum Bespoke?

The Platinum Bespoke supports users up to 70 stone as standard — the highest standard weight capacity in the Channel Healthcare range. For users with requirements beyond this, please speak to our team to discuss whether a further bespoke structural specification is possible.

What motor options are available on the Platinum Bespoke?

The Platinum Bespoke is available with single, dual or triple motor configurations. The single motor moves the backrest and footrest together as one action. The dual motor option adds Tilt-in-Space functionality, which tilts the entire seat unit to assist users in transitioning between sitting and standing. The triple motor separates the backrest and footrest controls so they can be adjusted independently, giving full flexibility over body positioning throughout the day. Your seating consultant will discuss which option best matches your mobility and daily use requirements.

What back styles are available on the Platinum Bespoke?

The Platinum Bespoke offers five back cushion styles: waterfall, two-tier, button back, T-back and lateral. Waterfall cushions follow the natural curve of the spine from head to lower back in a continuous contoured profile. Two-tier cushions provide separate, independently sized zones for the upper and lower back. Button back brings a traditional tufted aesthetic and a naturally contoured surface. T-back uses a structured T-shaped cushion layout for firm central support. Lateral cushions extend inward from both sides of the backrest to support midline positioning and reduce postural drift. Your seating consultant will discuss which back style best suits your clinical and comfort needs during the home visit.

Who is the Platinum Bespoke suited to?

The Platinum Bespoke is suited to anyone whose needs cannot be fully met by a standard chair - whether that’s because of body dimensions that fall outside standard sizing, a complex postural or clinical condition requiring a specific configuration, a high weight requirement, or simply a desire for a chair that is built precisely to their specification rather than adjusted to fit. It is used by private individuals, family members purchasing on behalf of a loved one, and healthcare professionals sourcing seating for clients with complex or high-dependency needs.

What makes the Platinum Bespoke different from the standard Channel Healthcare chairs?

Every other chair in the Channel Healthcare range is available in a set of standard sizes with specific feature configurations. The Platinum Bespoke is different in that nothing about it is standard. Rather than choosing from existing sizes and models, the Platinum Bespoke is built from scratch to your exact body measurements, with every element - back style, arm design, motor configuration, fabric, weight capacity and additional support components - selected specifically for the person who will be using it. It also gives access to a range of Platinum-exclusive upgrades, including 10-point massage, memory foam and gel support options, that are not available on any other chair in our range.
