Finding the right fit

Seating specialist helping client choose a chair

A Clinically Informed Approach

Establishing the best seating solution for your needs starts with understanding your lived experience: how long you sit, how you shift, how you use the chair.

Listen and Assess

It’s not just asking “what do you need?”, it’s about understanding the user’s day-to-day: how long they sit, what positions they favour, what causes discomfort, what health issues matter.

Pressure Mapping & Posture

Using specialist tools, we can see where pressure builds up and which seating adjustments will relieve it.

Tailored Recommendations

Based on that assessment, we can then suggest the  seating solutions that would be the best fit. That could be riser recliners, tilt-in-space or bespoke chairs - always with an eye to both comfort and clinical benefit.

Fine Tuning

Once your chair is delivered, the team will re-check your posture, make small adjustments, and help you to understand how to use its features best (tilt, recline, pressure cushions) to stay well supported.

Product FAQ's

Does the Mabel riser recliner come with a guarantee?

You’re investing in your comfort, so we don’t just deliver products. Every one of our riser recliners, including the Mabel, comes with our 5 year accidental damage cover including giving you peace of mind. If you’re not happy with your chair, our team are on hand to make sure you get the support you deserve.

Do you offer nationwide delivery?

We offer premium, white-glove, nationwide delivery service. We don’t just deliver your chair, our team will install it in the room of your choice, set it up and talk you through all of the functions to make sure you’re ready to go.

Once I've ordered, how long will it take to get my Mabel riser recliner?

We know how important it is to get you sitting comfortably and moving more freely, as quickly as possible. Our most popular seating ranges can be delivered to your home within just 7 days, while our made-to-measure chairs can be built just for you and supplied in as little as 6 weeks.

How do I find out which size of the Mabel is right for me?

Our Chair Selector Tool is a great place to start, letting you input your specific requirements, including weight, symptoms and specific health conditions to recieve a list of our recommendations. We also offer free, no obligation home visits across the UK where our experienced seating consultants can visit you in the comfort of your own home. Taking the time to understand your needs, take your measurements and discuss most suitable seating solutions for you, we’ll leave with a no-obligation quote and all the information you need to make a decision in your own time. You can also request a brochure, or call the team on 0800 193 2524 for personalised guidance.

How do I keep my Mabel chair clean and hygienic?

Our Mabel model is available with optional arm and headrest covers, which not only protect the high-touch point areas of your chair but help to keep them clean. When it comes to cleaning, simply remove your covers and pop them in the washing machine. The Mabel can also be made in a range of easy to clean and waterproof fabric options, for maximum durability, longevity and peace of mind that the chair can withstand the demands of daily use.

Can I get a sofa that matches the Mabel?

We know that comfort and support are just as important as how your chair will look in your home and our range of matching 2-seater and 3-seater sofas means you never have to compromise on style. Our sofas can be made in the same fabric and finish as your Mabel, letting you choose from over 2000 fabric options to fit seamlessly with your home decor.

Is the Mabel suitable for users with specific health conditions?

We work with customers with a wide range of health conditions and mobility needs. The Mabel has been designed to support users with a range of health conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Heart Disease, Kyphosis, Lordosis, Arthritis and Stroke. For more information on how our chairs can support those with specific conditions, visit our conditions pages. Or, if you’re not sure if the Mabel is right for you, your loved-one or your client, take a look at our Chair Selector Tool to view the most suitable seating solutions.

What is Tilt-in-Space functionality and what does it do?

Tilt-in-Space is a dual motor function that allows you to tilt the entire seating position of the chair rather than just the backrest. Designed for those with more limited mobility who may need a little more support while transitioning from sitting to standing by carefully tilting the user into a standing position. Tilt-in-Space provides superior postural support, pressure relief and makes the transition from sitting to standing much safer and more comfortable, while offering peace of mind for both users and their carers.

What is the maximum weight capacity of the Mabel?

Built with a robust, durable frame, our standard Mabel supports users weighing up to 25 stone. For users weighing over 25 stone, the Mabel can be built bespoke with additional features to accommodate users up to 70 stone. Get in touch with our specialist team for more information on how we can adapt our chairs to the specific needs of each user.

What sizes is the Mabel available in?

The Mabel is available in four standard sizes, as well as a Made-to-Measure option built to your individual measurements. Super Petite is designed for shorter users with a lower seat height and depth and ensuring that users can keep their feet on the floor when the footrest is not extended. This helps to maintain correct posture and enhance comfort for those seated for long periods. Our Compact size features a narrower overall width making it an ideal option for smaller spaces. Medium features a wider seat width and depth, designed to keep the user's spine, hips and legs in alignment and making it easier and more comfortable to transition from sitting to standing. Large offers wider seat widths and depths for those who need a little extra room, with wider seat better suited to taller users.
