Eden
Lateral support. Elegant scroll arms. Total postural control.
The Eden riser recliner is built for people who need both active postural support and traditional, furniture-quality aesthetics and won’t compromise on either. Lateral back cushions hold the body in a centred, upright midline position from both sides, reducing the tendency to lean or drift during long periods of sitting. A scroll arm design gives the Eden the appearance of a classic armchair, while a choice of dual or 4-motor options, including Tilt-in-Space functionality, puts precise, handset-controlled comfort and mobility support at your fingertips.
- Lateral back cushions support the body from both sides, helping maintain a centred midline sitting position
- Scroll arm design brings traditional, elegant styling to a clinically considered chair
- Dual Motor Tilt-in-Space functionality for a safe, motorised sit-to-stand transition
- 4-motor option for independent control of head, back, leg and foot positioning
- Standard weight capacity of 25 stone, with up to 70 stone available on request

The Eden pairs the postural intelligence of lateral back cushions with the elegance of scroll arm styling — for users who want a chair that holds them in the right position all day, while looking right at home.

Product FAQ's
Yes. Every Eden is delivered as part of our white-glove service. Our team will bring the chair into the room of your choice, set it up fully and demonstrate all handset controls — including the motor functions — so you feel confident using it from day one. We deliver and install across the whole of the UK.
Given that the Eden’s lateral cushion system works differently to a standard backrest, a home visit is particularly valuable — it allows you to experience the support first-hand and compare the dual and 4-motor options in your own environment. Our seating consultants offer free, no-obligation visits across the UK. Alternatively, our Chair Selector Tool lets you filter by height, weight, health conditions and symptoms to generate recommendations. The team is also available by phone if you’d prefer to talk through your options before booking a visit.
Yes — the Eden is available with matching 2-seater and 3-seater sofas in the same scroll arm styling, fabric and finish. With over 200 fabric options to choose from, creating a coordinated suite that reflects the Eden’s traditional aesthetic is straightforward. Both sofas are available in manual or motorised recline.
The Eden is particularly well suited to users where maintaining a centred sitting posture is a clinical priority - making it a strong choice for those managing conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Kyphosis, Lordosis, Arthritis, Heart Disease and those recovering from stroke. The lateral back cushions actively support midline alignment, which is especially beneficial for users whose condition affects postural control or muscle tone on one side of the body. If you would like guidance on whether the Eden is appropriate for a specific condition or mobility need, our seating specialists can advise, or you can use our Chair Selector Tool to explore the full range.
The Eden’s scroll arms are a curved armrest design that gives the chair a more traditional, classic appearance - closer in character to a well-made domestic armchair than a clinical seating aid. The scroll arm rolls outward at the front in a gentle curve, providing a natural resting position for the forearm and elbow. Combined with the Eden’s lateral back cushions, the scroll arm design positions the chair as one that addresses postural needs without announcing that it does - a meaningful consideration for users who prefer their living space to feel like a home rather than a care environment.
Tilt-in-Space is included in both the Eden’s dual motor and 4-motor systems. Rather than reclining the backrest while the seat stays level, Tilt-in-Space moves the entire seating unit - seat, backrest and footrest - as a single controlled tilt. This movement gently brings the user forward and upward into a more standing-ready orientation, significantly reducing the physical effort required to rise. It also supports pressure redistribution across the seat and back, helping to prevent discomfort for users who are seated for extended periods.
The Eden’s dual motor option includes Tilt-in-Space functionality, which tilts the entire seat unit to assist the user in transitioning from sitting to standing. The 4-motor option builds on this by giving independent control over four separate elements: the headrest, the backrest, the leg rest and the footrest. This degree of control allows highly specific adjustments throughout the day — tilting the headrest to support reading, raising the legs to reduce swelling, reclining the back for rest without changing leg position, and so on. For users who need to shift their posture regularly, manage a specific clinical condition, or who spend the majority of their waking hours in the chair, the 4-motor option provides a level of adaptability that a standard recline cannot match.
The Eden’s lateral back cushions are positioned along the inner sides of the backrest, extending inward to hold the body from both the left and right. Where a standard backrest supports only from behind, lateral cushions also support the sides of the torso, helping the user maintain a centred, upright midline position rather than leaning or drifting to one side. This is particularly valuable for users who tend to lose postural alignment during extended sitting, or those whose condition affects their ability to hold a centred position independently. The lateral support is more active and three-dimensional than a flat-backed chair — working with the body rather than simply behind it.
The Eden’s standard build supports users up to 25 stone. For users requiring a higher weight-rated chair, the Eden can be built to accommodate up to 70 stone — please contact our team to discuss your requirements.
The Eden is available in four standard sizes - Super Petit, Compact, Medium and Large - plus a Made-to-Measure upgrade for a chair built precisely to your body measurements. Super Petit suits shorter users and is sized to allow feet to rest flat on the floor without the footrest extended, supporting good lower limb posture. Compact has a reduced overall width, making it suited to tighter living spaces. Medium suits the majority of average-height users, with proportions that support natural hip and knee alignment. Large provides greater seat width and depth for taller or broader frames. The Made-to-Measure option is worth considering if you have specific postural requirements or if none of the standard sizes give you the fit you need.
