Evelyn

All-round comfort, precisely where you need it.

Good seating should support your whole body, not just parts of it - the Evelyn does just that. Lateral back cushions wrap around the sides of the seat to hold you comfortably in position and ease lumbar pressure, while motor options ranging from dual to 4-motor control let you adjust your head, back, legs and feet independently, so you can always find the position that feels right. Add Tilt-in-Space functionality and the Evelyn becomes a chair that works as hard for your mobility as it does for your comfort.

  • Lateral back cushions provide all-round lumbar support and keep you comfortably positioned
  • Dual Motor Tilt-in-Space functionality assists the transition from sitting to standing
  • 4-motor option gives independent control of head, back, leg and foot positioning
  • Wooden arm knuckles in 3 wood colour options for easier grip and a refined finish
  • Standard weight capacity of 25 stone, with up to 70 stone available on request
  • 4 standard sizes plus Made to Measure for sizing that suits your body, not the other way around

The Evelyn gives you precise, adjustable control over every aspect of how you sit — with the lateral support and lumbar comfort to make every hour in the chair feel effortless.

Finding the right fit

Seating specialist helping client choose a chair

A Clinically Informed Approach

Establishing the best seating solution for your needs starts with understanding your lived experience: how long you sit, how you shift, how you use the chair.

Listen and Assess

It’s not just asking “what do you need?”, it’s about understanding the user’s day-to-day: how long they sit, what positions they favour, what causes discomfort, what health issues matter.

Pressure Mapping & Posture

Using specialist tools, we can see where pressure builds up and which seating adjustments will relieve it.

Tailored Recommendations

Based on that assessment, we can then suggest the  seating solutions that would be the best fit. That could be riser recliners, tilt-in-space or bespoke chairs - always with an eye to both comfort and clinical benefit.

Once your chair is delivered, the team will re-check your posture, make small adjustments, and help you to understand how to use its features best (tilt, recline, pressure cushions) to stay well supported.

Product FAQ's

Does the Evelyn riser recliner come with a guarantee?

Every Evelyn riser recliner comes with 5-year accidental damage cover included as standard. If something isn’t right after delivery, our aftercare team will make sure it’s resolved. We want you to feel as confident in your purchase long-term as you do on the day it arrives.

Do you offer nationwide delivery and will you install the Evelyn on delivery?

Yes. Delivery of the Evelyn is included as part of our white-glove service. Our team will bring the chair into your chosen room, set it up fully and walk you through every function, including the handset controls for each motor, to make sure you feel confident using it from day one. We deliver across the whole of the UK.

Is the Evelyn suitable for users with specific health conditions?

The Evelyn is used by people managing a range of conditions where postural support, pressure relief and ease of movement are important. That includes Arthritis, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Kyphosis, Lordosis, Heart Disease and those recovering from stroke. The lateral back cushions are particularly effective at managing postural drift and reducing lumbar strain during extended sitting. If you’d like guidance on whether the Evelyn is appropriate for a specific condition, our seating specialists can advise, or you can use our Chair Selector Tool.

What are wooden knuckles and what do they do?

The Evelyn features wooden arm knuckles, a hardwood detail at the front of each armrest, available in a choice of three wood colour finishes. As well as giving the chair a more refined, furniture-quality appearance, the knuckles provide a firm, easy-to-grip surface when pushing up to stand. For users with reduced hand strength or grip, this can make a real difference to the ease and safety of getting in and out of the chair.

What is Tilt-in-Space functionality and what does it do?

Tilt-in-Space is included as part of the Evelyn’s dual motor system. Rather than reclining the backrest on its own, Tilt-in-Space tilts the entire seating unit - seat, back and footrest together - which assists users with limited mobility in moving safely from a seated to a standing position. The controlled tilt reduces the effort required to stand and minimises the risk of falls during the transition. It also supports pressure redistribution for users who need to shift their weight regularly throughout the day.

What is the difference between the dual motor and 4- motor options?

The dual motor option on the Evelyn includes Tilt-in-Space functionality, which moves the seat and backrest together to assist the user in transitioning from sitting to standing. The 4-motor option adds independent control over four separate elements: the headrest, the backrest, the leg rest and the footrest. This level of control allows you to make very precise adjustments to your position throughout the day - raising just the footrest to reduce swelling, tilting the headrest for reading, or reclining the back without changing your leg position. The 4-motor option is particularly suited to users who spend long periods seated or who have specific postural or clinical requirements.

What are lateral back cushions and how do they help?

The Evelyn’s lateral back cushions are positioned along the sides of the backrest, extending inward to support the body from both sides rather than just from behind. This wraparound effect helps to maintain a centred, upright sitting position and reduces lateral movement that can cause postural discomfort over time. For users who spend extended periods in their chair, or those who experience lumbar pain or difficulty maintaining posture, the lateral cushions provide a noticeably more supportive and stable seating experience compared to a standard flat backrest.

What is the maximum weight capacity of the Evelyn?

The Evelyn’s standard build supports users up to 25 stone. For users who require a higher weight-rated chair, we can build the Evelyn to accommodate up to 70 stone, please speak to our team to discuss the specific requirements and options available.

What sizes is the Evelyn available in?

The Evelyn is available in four standard sizes - Super Petit, Compact, Medium and Large - plus a Made-to-Measure upgrade for a chair built to your exact body measurements. Super Petit is suited to shorter users and features a lower seat height to keep feet flat on the floor without the footrest extended. Compact has a reduced overall width, making it well-suited to tighter spaces or narrower doorways. Medium balances seat width and depth to suit most average-height users, and Large offers greater dimensions for taller or broader frames. If you’re between sizes or have specific postural requirements, the Made-to-Measure option removes any compromise entirely.

Optional upgrades

Ease aches and pains with massage options
Non-slip glides or lockable castors to suit your choice of flooring
