Quality You Can Trust, Made in Britain

When it comes to uncompromising quality standards and top quality materials, we believe that British is best. That’s why we’re passionate about keeping as much of our process as possible right here in the British Isles.

That means that everything from our riser recliners to the components that make our seating and mobility solutions the go-to choice, are made in Britain.

Hand-built at our factories and warehouses in the UK, using market-leading British engineered steel components, every frame, every stitch and every innovative feature is hand-crafted by our team of expert craftspeople. For the highest quality, maximum comfort and a solution built for each user’s needs - every time.

Introducing our Chair Selector Tool

At Channel Healthcare, we understand that choosing the right chair is a hugely personal decision. But we also understand that it can be an overwhelming decision too.

That’s why we developed our innovative Chair Selector Tool. Designed in collaboration with Occupational Therapists, our Chair Selector Tool eases the feeling of overwhelm by helping to narrow down our extensive range of products, matching you with the products that can best support you or your loved one.

What is a riser recliner chair?

A riser recliner is an electrically powered armchair that gently tilts forward to help the user to stand and reclines back so they can relax in total comfort. With smooth, easy-to-use controls, it supports the user in moving from sitting to standing with far less effort,  ideal if mobility or balance is a challenge.

What is a dual motor riser recliner?

A dual motor riser recliner has two separate motors — one to control the backrest and one for the footrest. This allows more flexible, independent positioning than a single motor chair, letting you find the exact position that works for you.

How can a riser recliner help me?

A riser recliner reduces the strain involved in standing, improves comfort during extended periods of sitting, helps manage circulation, and can ease symptoms associated with a wide range of health conditions including arthritis, COPD, Parkinson’s disease, back pain and many more.

Are riser recliners suitable for elderly users?

Many older adults find riser recliners transformative for their independence, comfort and daily wellbeing. We always recommend trying a chair first during a free home visit to make sure it’s the right fit for you.

What is Tilt-in-Space functionality?

Tilt-in-Space allows the entire seat and back to tilt as one unit, redistributing pressure and supporting the body without changing the seated angle. It is particularly beneficial for users with postural needs, pressure sore risk or complex clinical requirements.

Are Channel Healthcare chairs made in Britain?

Yes. Every Channel Healthcare chair is hand-built in the UK using market-leading British engineered steel components. From the frame to the fabric and every innovative feature, our chairs are crafted by skilled British craftspeople.

How do I choose the right riser recliner for my needs?

Our Chair Selector Tool, developed in collaboration with Occupational Therapists, helps narrow down our range based on your symptoms and conditions. You can also arrange a free home visit with one of our specialist seating consultants, who will guide you through the options best suited to your individual needs.

How long does delivery take?

Standard models are typically delivered within 5–6 weeks. Bespoke chairs built to your exact specification may take a little longer. Your consultant will give you a clear timescale when you order.

Can I get a riser recliner on the NHS or through an Occupational Therapist?

Channel Healthcare works closely with Occupational Therapists across the UK. Many clients are referred to us through an OT assessment. If you’ve been assessed and recommended a specialist seating solution, our team can work alongside your OT to ensure the right chair is prescribed.

Do you offer a free home visit?

Yes. We offer free, no-obligation home visits across the UK. Every one of our seating specialists is DBS checked and adheres to our strict Channel Code of Conduct, so you can have complete peace of mind that you’ll receive the very best service.
